Understanding the Four Villages
Courchevel is not a single resort but a collection of four distinct villages on the same mountain, each with its own altitude, lift access, and atmosphere.
Courchevel 1850 is the summit — and the legend. At the top of the Bellecôte gondola, it is one of the most expensive ski destinations on earth. Michelin-starred restaurants, slope-side palace hotels, and direct access to the finest terrain in the Trois Vallées. The Altiport — a private airstrip cut into the mountainside — handles private jets in season. If your clients are staying here, a Mercedes is the appropriate vehicle. Our S-Class is available on request.
Courchevel 1650 (Moriond) is the family resort — slightly lower, quieter, with its own gondola and a more relaxed village feel. Many families with young children prefer it to 1850 for its scale and accessibility.
Courchevel 1550 suits intermediate skiers who want easy access to the wider ski domain without the price premium of 1850.
Le Praz (1300) is the original village at the valley base — charming, affordable, and home to the 1992 Winter Olympics ski jumping venue. The gondola ride up to 1850 takes around 25 minutes.
The Trois Vallées — 600 km of Skiing
Courchevel is the gateway to the Trois Vallées — the world's largest interconnected ski area, shared with Méribel and Val Thorens. A single ski pass covers more than 600 km of marked runs, 179 lifts, and terrain from beginner nursery slopes to some of the most challenging off-piste in the Alps.
The connection between valleys is made by ski, not by road — so your choice of village in Courchevel does not limit your access to the full domain. We transfer to whichever village suits your group and your budget.
Corporate & VIP Transfers to Courchevel
Courchevel 1850 is a significant corporate entertainment destination. The week between Christmas and New Year draws executives, private equity partners, and luxury brand clients from across Europe. We handle corporate group bookings discreetly — multiple vehicles coordinated for the same arrival, driver briefed on client preferences, VAT invoices issued immediately.
For VIP clients requiring the S-Class, we can arrange it for the full journey from Lyon Airport to the chalet door. We are also happy to coordinate with concierge teams from the major Courchevel hotels and chalet operators — just contact us in advance with the logistics.
Lyon vs Geneva — The Right Airport for Courchevel
Geneva Airport (GVA) is 2h00 from Courchevel — faster than Lyon's 2h45. But Lyon Airport (LYS) is consistently cheaper for flights from the UK and Ireland, often by €100 to €300 per person on peak dates. For a group of six, the combined flight saving frequently exceeds €1,000 — more than covering the modest additional transfer time.
Grenoble Airport (GNB) is also sometimes considered. It is slightly closer to Courchevel than Lyon, but has limited flight availability. For most UK and Irish clients, Lyon offers the best combination of schedule, route choice, and total cost.
Return Transfers — End of Ski Week
End-of-week morning departures from Courchevel are busy. Saturday changeover sees every chalet emptying simultaneously and the Tarentaise road can be congested south of Moûtiers by 8 am. We advise booking your return transfer pickup for at least 3 hours 30 minutes before your flight — and we will confirm the ideal departure time based on your flight and current conditions.
